Research and Testing was initially founded based on the vision of Dr. Randy Wolcott, a wound care physician and pioneer in modern methods of wound care treatment. The impetus behind the creation of Research and Testing was to focus on utilizing the latest developments in molecular biology and genetic sequencing, and to create methods to apply these developments to the process of caring for chronic wounds. As a result, Research and Testing has grown up at the intersection of the domains of basic and applied research.
Research and Testing also has fully embraced the application of molecular detection in basic environmental research, and has a strong track record in the field of microbial diversity. More recently, the focus on clinical samples has grown into a sister organization, Pathogenius Laboratory, a CAP accredited, CLIA licensed facility.
